Look Up - Leadership SHIFT Tip

When I was younger, I loved going to the Strasenburgh Planetariumin Rochester, NY. It was a portal that helped my worries float away into the Milky Way.

Whether losing myself at the planetarium, staring at my bedroom ceiling’s solar system, or being blown away by the night sky of Australia’s Outback, my problems always seemed smaller against the context of the universe.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar reminded me of this during the World Happiness Summit.

It’s natural to see our problems as bigger than life. Their significance and our unhappiness grow as they fester in our heads. But in reality, they are much smaller than our inner critic leads us to believe.

“If you follow joy, misery follows you. If you follow wisdom, joy follows you.”- Sri Sir Ravi Shankar.

The next time a challenge seems too big to solve, put down your phone, go outside, and look up at the sky

Pause. Breathe. Reflect.

You just may see the wisdom and perspective that you are seeking.
