Coffee Anyone? - Leadership SHIFT Tip
Many of you know that I'm a fan of morning rituals. I start my day with a tall glass of water, a few minutes of prioritization, and meditation. Then I cap it off with a smooth espresso or latte.
Now, I'm a little different than most when it comes to coffee. I don't drink it for the caffeine buzz. Nope, I actually enjoy the taste and the artisanal, beans to pour, love that flow into my cup.
If I'm traveling, I like to find the funky local coffee shop. But when I'm home, I fire up my Jura and pull out my favorite mug.
I bought it at the farmer's market where my oldest goes to college. It reminds me of her. Plus, its Mount St. Helens' volcanic ash glaze connects me back to where my wife grew up.
But here's the thing about coffee and, for that matter, life. What is inside your cup matters the most. Hey, I love a great mug - so grab away if you desire, but realize that bad coffee in a cool mug is still bad coffee. And life is too short to drink bad coffee.
Have fun storming the castle. The first cup is on me or tea if you prefer.
